Bisharat Al Qaiz

The Sharjah Institute for Heritage organizes the annual “Bisharat Al-Qaiz” event to celebrate the Emirati heritage, reviving its vocabulary and symbols in the hearts of children and school students.

The event aims to develop the children’s cultural knowledge and educate them about the importance of preserving heritage through a large number of quality programs suitable for different ages that helps them smoothly absorb and understand the flow of information and concepts.

The event carries an Islamic, cultural, entertaining and heritage related messages. Folkloric displays, puppet show as well as painting and colouring of drawings were all part of the event in addition to placing a mural for children to write on it what they have learned from the shows.

The institute also organizes a number of entertaining contests followed by presents and meals distribution as well as handing brochures about the institutes and its aspirations.

It’s worth mentioning that the word Bisharat means good omens and Al Qaiz means the hot summer which is an Emirati tradition of welcoming the summer with joy. His Excellency Abdul Aziz Al Musallam talks in his book “The Popular Culture” about this event and its historical details in the UAE history.
